Yesterday I attended an important event in Parliament hosted by the Obesity Health Alliance, focused on supporting healthier weight in our coastal communities.
I was especially proud to see Essex represented so strongly. Essex County Council Public Health shared a powerful case study from Tendring, alongside Harwich Preschool Deputy Manager and one of their fantastic parent ambassadors. They presented the brilliant Nourishing Our Future (NOF) project, which is transforming the food environment in private, voluntary and independent early years settings, a vital sector that makes up 94% of childcare in Essex.
After the event, I took the group on a tour of Parliament, and I’ve offered them my full support as they continue this important work for families in our coastal communities.
