I recently took part in Westminster’s annual Evidence Week in Parliament, which brings together the public, researchers and MPs to discuss how evidence is used in policymaking.
I met researchers from the University of Bristol to hear about the By-Band-Sleeve trial comparing three types of weight loss surgery and what the results mean for people in Harwich and North Essex.
I also spoke with experts from the University of Manchester about tackling regional health inequalities and how virtual wards can help improve NHS patient care.
It was a valuable opportunity to hear how the latest research can help shape better health outcomes for people in our communities.
