I’ve just come from my debate on the A1331, and the crucial funding required to complete the project.
I’ve asked the government to re-affirm the principle of infrastructure first. And, for their acknowledgement that Section 106 money is not an appropriate vehicle of funding a major piece of national infrastructure.
This is an A road being proposed here, not a local road, which is why central government should fund the new road!
It was also shocking that the Minister has been told that our local network is sufficient to support 5,000 new homes! I don’t know who told her that, but she’s been misinformed!
I am pleased, however, that she is willing to engage in further conversation and I look forward to further talks!
