Bernard riding a static bike in support of the Poppy Appeal

Today I cycled 2.32km in just five minutes as part of the 2025 IPT Poppy Ride, in partnership with the Royal British Legion.

It was fantastic to take part in this annual event, which brings together MPs and Peers to raise awareness and support for the Poppy Appeal. The Poppy Ride is a friendly but competitive 10-hour static bike challenge held in Parliament, with each participant cycling as far as they can in five minutes, all in support of our Armed Forces community.

The funds raised help the Royal British Legion continue its vital work providing lifelong financial, social, and emotional support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

You can find out more about the Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT), which organises the event, at www.ipt.org.uk.
